The Shelby is a tie waist dress made from 100% viscose, in our Riviera print. It has a band collar, a button-through front with wooden buttons, and full balloon sleeves gathered into an elasticated cuff. The waist is a tunnel with a self-tie belt, so you can pull it in as much as you like. It has pockets and falls to mid-calf. It's made in Cape Town, South Africa, by a small all-female team, in a limited run.

The print is a summer scrapbook: Italian cliffs and coves, a sunlit amphitheatre, Vespas, postage stamps marked with oranges, palms, hibiscus, and the odd crab on the sand. Soft watercolour turquoise, green, peach and pink keep it easy on the eye, even with this much going on. The balloon sleeves are full through the arm and caught in at the elbow, and the tie runs through the tunnel waist, so you can cinch it in or leave it loose.

Wear it with flat buckle sandals and stacked beaded bracelets, as shot, or add raffia earrings and a basket bag for a long lunch.

The Shelby has a relaxed fit through the body, and the tunnel waist with its tie belt lets you pull it in as much or as little as you like. The balloon sleeves give room through the arm. Our model is 1.70m and wears a size 32. Take your usual Signature by Des size.

How do I wash and care for it?
Hand wash only, and wash dark colours separately. We suggest washing by hand to ensure the longevity of your garment, because a lot of care went into making it. Treated gently, the Shelby will hold its colour and shape season after season, ready whenever you want it.

What can I wear the Riviera print dress with?
Flat buckle sandals and stacked beaded bracelets, as shot, keep it easy for the day. Add raffia earrings and a basket bag for a long lunch, or a wedge for a summer wedding. Coral, yellow or turquoise accessories pick up the print without competing with it.
